SoLiveSoRide Moto Ranch training weekend with Dustin and Kate Coit

Had the opportunity to join Dustin and Kate Coit on their developing “moto ranch” in the small town of Ozone Arkansas over the weekend. Dustin and Kate are training for the men’s and women’s 2024 GS Trophy USA team to compete later next year in Namibia. It’s on the continent of Africa.

They invited their social media friends to come spend a weekend training on their course and take a ride through the rapidly blooming forest of the Ozarks.  The training and ride were both excellent.

The long range plans of the 27 acre moto ranch are to offer tours , training with “glamping” accommodations. (cabins and fancy canvas tents)   Located just a couple miles off the Trans America Trail should also provide a steady stream of guests as they pass through the Ozarks.

With routes like this at your front door, there isn’t a better place to set up camp!

Dustin and Kate hope to bring big name ADV instructors like Bill Dragoo, Shalmarie Wilson, and Bret Tkacs( ? )to teach classes at various times for budding ADV  riders in this part of the country.  Big plans!

I know Dustin has amassed a catalogue of various routes through the area from mild to wild, because he absolutely loves to take 600lb BMW GS Adventure 1200’s on narrow single track trails only meant for single cylinder dirt bikes. Dustin and Kate have both quickly become skilled riders on their massive bikes and want to invite others to join them, that are up for a challenge.

Saturday morning, about a dozen of us headed out for a big breakfast at the Catalpa cafe then up the super twisty  “pig trail” and finally several miles of dirt and gravel roads to the White Rock mountain overlook

Almost as much gravel and twisty pavement on the way back stopping at Turner Bend to fill up then on to the ranch.  Dustin and Kate then ran everyone through their skills course and had some friendly competition with various timed events like a slow race.

I’m really looking forward to watching the ranch develop as they work toward their dreams. They are definitely a couple to watch!  So stay tuned. You can look them up, just search for #solivesoride on Facebook and Instagram, or on YouTube
