Tenere Across Arkansas 2024

I’ve made some progress in finding a dirt road in all 75 counties. Only 18 more if my count is right. It’s been a blast going through all the small town on the backroads!
As fate would have it, I got sidetracked with a different mission from my buddies David and Jon at Let’s Take a Ride out in Tennessee. They have put together an epic adventure across 5 states! It’s called the GRAT (Graded road Adventure Tour) Having done the route with a combination of other known routes and Google Earth for the parts they couldn’t get to, they asked if I would check out the entire Arkansas section. Breaking it up in sections, I figured there would be 1 piece I wouldn’t get to before heading to the PNW for the summer. I used my property to get from Marshall to Missouri. Parked the van at a great little cabin south of Warren from my new buddy Corey Baker along with Dustin and Kates “So live So Ride” moto ranch. The only piece I wasn’t able to do is the stretch from Malvern to Clarksville through the Ouichita National Forest. I was able to add about 15 more counties to the running total so that’s a bonus!

Graded roads Adventure Tour… Arkansas, Missouri,Kentucky , Tennessee and Mississippi

That grader has been retired for a while….

This is what I was able to get done before heading to Washington . I plan to be back in early September to finish the rest.

Now for the gallery of pics from Across Arkansas ❤️

Long awaited update

WOW! It’s been over a year since the last post! Guess it’s time to catch everyone up. There will likely be two posts back to back, so stay tuned. This will be more of a personal update on what’s happening in my life and the progress of the bunkhouse property (or whatever I decide to eventually call it)

Overlooking Searcy county with my sweetheart.

My travels have slowed down considerably this past year, I’m still in the PNW some of the summer, Cajun country over the winter holidays but spring and fall my time is divided between Northern Arkansas and Central North Carolina. I’m sharing some of my time with Amanda Josiah, a wonderful nurse and mother of two just outside Charlotte. Without going into too much gooey detail, we’ve know each other and stayed in touch over almost 2 decades now, she even hosted me over the lockdowns a couple years back. We took a break the last couple years but now I’m making her a priority and a destination for a good portion of the year. As the feelings and our relationship develop, y’all will be seeing more from us.

Last fall in North Carolina

It’s always an adventure with Amanda ❤️

My property in Arkansas has come a long way too! I now have power and the water line should be in soon ! We cut a few more trees down to widen the rifle range a bit and had them sawn up into more lumber when the time comes to start building. Also built a shower that comes with a bucket toilet, Amanda was the first to use both and gave me 👍👍 !

That smile makes all the hard work worth it.

I hosted some friends for the eclipse in April , Amanda even flew in for the big event. Dave and Lori brought up a 20’ travel trailer and had no issues setting it up on the pad. It was Dave’s birthday too so yay! I have plans for a dedicated RV spot about 1/4 of the up the driveway for travelers. Vans, schoolie or smaller travel trailers will fit nicely. What a spectacular experience that only comes around so rarely.

Short range future plans for the property(next year), after the water gets put in will be another container from Arkansas Containers LLC It will be a custom ordered storage container with insulation, OSB walls, power, A/C , a window and two extra doors. It will serve as the “bunkhouse” until the real cabin gets built. It’s going right next to the container I already have with one of the doors to be an internal pass through. Stay tuned on its progress.

Similar to this but 1 smaller window and in tan.

Big changes are always happening as time progresses. I’ll follow this post up with what I’ve been up to on the motorcycle.
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR FOLLOWING MY JOURNEY!
