Mountain vistas, caves and cool air

We snuck into state #6 (Nevada) last night under cover of darkness, but it was still 95F at 2130. Earlier in the day, I met up with my host Luke Atwell at Duck Creek Village in the Dixie National Forest Utah, where he was camping with his daughter and her in-laws for the weekend. Duck creek is in the high aspen forest and a great place to wait out the heat of Las Vegas. We soon became fast friends, hopped on our bikes and headed out to explore the area. He is a Tenere owner but was on his XT-250 for the day. We met up with one of the locals on his Triumph Tiger to take us to Strawberry point. The ride up there was on ATV trails and the view was spectacular.

After the ride we had got out of our dusty gear, had lunch with the family, then drove out to explore some lava tubes and hang out at a lake to fish with his daughter. A great way to spend the afternoon!

It's all about going for a ride with friends on the Yamaha Super Tenere, on road or off in the Pacific Northwest
